My name is Ervin Lærum, I work in épiserver. I will tell you a little bit about how we can control our content in épiserver.
We have been working for a long time with different channels, different devices, automated.
Now it is like this, universal design, it has been the goal for many, and now it is allowed.
In addition, Google also punishes all those who do not have mobile, automated sites.
We have come quite far. What we have been working on for the last few months is distribution of content in different distribution channels.
For example, Google, Apple or Facebook, as Petter mentioned.
I will now go through some of them and tell you what they have done, how you can work with them.
When it comes to Facebook, they have their own instant articles.
You have probably seen a period when many Norwegian media test it out.
Dageblad, among other things, has many instant articles in Facebook feed.
And then you see that little halo on the article, which makes content load faster in mobile.
An instant Facebook article is an HTML page, which has a number of limitations.
You can create your own feed on your own site, which Facebook can then come and pick up.
So that you can get your articles in Facebook and publish them there as instant articles.
In addition, you can also use the app to deliver your articles, if you wish.
When it comes to Apple, they have their Apple News Format.
What they do is simply to make articles available in their News App.
I'm sure many have used it to read news.
And as Apple does, they have a JSON format where you then push in all your content into Apple.
And you then register only in advance to be able to start pushing news and get them into their app.
So they use a slightly different format than Facebook does.
So at Google, Google has Google AMP, Accelerated Mobile Pages,
which allows you to load the pages faster when you see them or press them in the search bar on Google.
And the way they have done that is by having a variant of your article, which is an AMP page.
So then you can make your own paint in your SMS, which then delivers the same article, but in AMP format.
And then you cross-link these, so that Google in search results chooses to show the AMP article instead, if the user is on mobile.
So this is a range of different formats that we have to relate to, in addition to all the different channels we have from before.
And then we have this guy here.
Is that your iPad, Göran?
The man on the train reads texts on the iPad.
It is also a special channel that we may have to relate to.
So there is no doubt that it is more important than ever that you have a strong name where you can have your content,
and that you can spread it out in the different media and on the different platforms.
And this is Kjetil well argued for now.
I also think that it is more important than ever that you own your own content,
and that you do not have to depend on changed conditions with the different platforms.
So it is both the conditions of them and their popularity, which is a variable that you cannot be too dependent on.
In EPSover we have been working with channels for a long time.
A year ago I showed an Apple Watch channel on the editor breakfast.
What I am talking about now is to spread content to new channels, to new distribution channels, and what to do to get there.
First, you have to make content available.
And as we see, there are several different formats that you can use, depending on which supplier you want to publish your content to.
Sometimes you have to make a new feed, sometimes you have to update a feed,
and sometimes it is a bigger integration when you have to use an API to get content delivered.
In EPSover we still have the possibility to make an own editor application,
so you can see in the editing limit in EPSover how the content is displayed in the different channels.
So there is nothing in the way to make your own instant articles channel, for example, in the EPSover limit.
In addition to that, you have to have the integration so that Facebook can get the articles and show them as instant articles.
It is a tradition on the editor breakfasts that we eat cinnamon buns, and it is also a tradition that we do demos,
so I can't be doing that today either.
What is new this time is that I have not thought of doing a demo on a demo site.
That is what we often do. We have a site that is specially adapted to be able to show functionality in EPSover.
Today we will, for the first time in history, do a demo on our own site, so you can see how we work with content.
We launched our new EPSover NO on Monday, so it is a relatively fresh site.
I thought I could go in and look at it. Here we have Forsøya.
On it we have put out a number of blocks to show different content.
We have, for example, a notice for today's seminar.
In addition, we have our product presentations, so I can go in and look at CMS, for example, and read about our products.
We also have a clear call to action here, where you want to know more about the product you are reading about.
In addition, we have a number of customer cases that are relevant for the product you are looking at.
In addition, we have also chosen to focus on target groups and different people.
He, the guy with the iPad on the train, is not one of his own, so I have nothing for him.
Sorry, Göran. But we have a number of other industries that we have made landing pages for.
For example, we have Reiseliv.
I can go in and look at and find good arguments for why I should use EPSover in the travel industry.
Here we also have a customer case that we have placed in the travel category.
We have a lot of arguments and we also have the possibility to show articles that are about the different areas of expertise or the different industries we write about.
Here we have a article by the Sky Association that deals with travel and content marketing.
At the top we also have a customer case. I can go in and look at, for example, our customer Avinor.
I can see that it is Beck who has produced that site and I can see other cases that Beck has implemented.
For example, Opran. We have placed Opran in the media industry, so I can go in and look at arguments for why someone in the media industry should use EPSover.
So all of our articles, all of the areas of expertise are linked together in the solution.
That was on the front page. Now I thought I would show how we can work on the back page.
I would like to show you a new article on EPSover now that is about instant articles.
I log in to EPSover and I get into the dashboard here in EPSover.
Now I can reveal our Google Analytics data with 1000 visits in the last few days.
We can also see that we have set up a 404 handler now, because we went from our old site to our new one.
We have set up a number of redirects to handle the traffic that is now going to our old sites. That is important.
If I go into the editing page, we have our side tree on the left side, which we are used to.
I can open that. I would also like to go into the article structure and open the article.
I will not go into 2014, but 2016. I will open a new article here.
Now I will create an article, so I choose the article side type.
I have joked a bit with the text in front of me.
I have an article that is about EPServer and instant articles.
In this article, I would like to put up a picture.
I have joked a bit with the picture I uploaded in front of me.
I have an instant article picture here that I would like to put up.
We have a page that shows our article in the instant article presentation.
We have some text, so I can copy an entry field.
I paste that in the entry and then we will put up the main page.
We have a picture text here as well, which we can use.
I will put up the main text.
It should be formatted a bit.
I think it is open to put up, among other things, some lists and some transcripts.
Let's see if we can get that in place.
I will put up a transcript of the two and then we will put up a list of points.
This is live, we are working on the production of course.
We cannot be lazy with this.
I want to put up a numbered list of points and then we will put up cool points.
I will put up a number of points and then we will put up cool points.
I want to put up a numbered list of points and then we will put up cool points.
The article is ready and we will publish it.
As instant articles work, we have put up a feed from us to instant articles.
We have made that as a module, so that you can install it when we publish it.
This means that you have that part of the integration ready.
Our partners like to do a job on their site to adjust their artwork, so that they can get their content out through that channel.
But a lot of work has been done with this module.
As it works, it has a feed as I said, an RSS feed that Facebook consumes.
Facebook has promised to come in every 15 minutes and see if we have produced any new articles.
Then they will dive into the Facebook page.
I will continue the demo while I wait for Facebook to index the article.
What I can do now is to continue working on the EPSOV page.
I would like to see that this article looks good in all traditional channels, such as the mobile channel.
There we have an iPhone, maybe tougher with a Samsung S7.
I have seen some of them.
Some of them have already produced text TV, so I still have that channel.
This was on the train, he did not have that TV on the train.
He has that TV at home.
We should see how text TV can look on an iPad for him, so that we know that yours looks good.
Then we have Google AMP.
I have made a presentation of the article as Google AMP.
I also have the responsibility to present the article as an instant article.
The advantage of working in EPSOV is that I can edit the article in the presentation, if that is what is important to me.
Let us see if we have got the article out on instant articles.
Then it is the Pages app, which you use to look at it.
Here it is.
I do not know if everyone at home can see this, we stream this.
I want to show that we have instant articles here.
You can see the screen, right?
Here I can click on the picture, and then you have the funny...
I have to get closer.
There we have the cool presentation with gyros and such, and it looks like we can scroll down the article.
We even got the bullet points and numbers.
That was the integration, and it worked.
Thank you.
That was what I had.
Now it is a break for 20 minutes with cinnamon buns.
Thank you.
