#CPHFTW is wrapping up 2016 with a grand Townhall!
Good evening everyone! Are you ready to kick this town hall off? Nice! So welcome everyone to town hall number 10. So this is a small jubilee and as an extra we have actually some heating, so that's awesome. This is the fourth town hall this year. We assembled more than 3,000 people and united the Danish ecosystem. Tonight we have an action-packed and people-packed program for you. Before we start, some practical information. The bar is closed during the main show and I would kindly ask you to not have conversations during the main show. The bar will open again afterwards. There will be seven awesome startups as well that can tell you, will be outside on the main area, which can tell you about their story. Their product, their culture and their jobs. So do that all after the main show. Now tonight we have a program packed with good people, awesome startups, awesome community initiatives and most importantly really good stories. This brings me also to the theme of tonight's town hall. Good stories beat good spreadsheets. I really hope we can inspire you tonight. Now let's kick this off and we will do that by briefly revisiting some of the awesome things that have happened in Copenhagen for the win in 2016. Please help me welcome Lerke Ullerup, initiator of Copenhagen for the win on stage. Good evening everybody. So welcome to Papierhallen. It's awesome to see all of you here today. I want to celebrate that this is actually town hall number 10. Woo! Three years ago we started this little thing and today this is the 10th time we are here together. So I am super excited about that. We are just going to take a moment to remind ourselves about all of the wins and the successes we have had in 2016. As a startup community. Because it's so important to celebrate those achievements, those wins and the successes down the road. So let's start out with the first one. Up here we have Zennström, Saga and Skobel. These are all international tech stars that we brought to Copenhagen. And it's wonderful to have these people come around and they really want to be here. So let's celebrate that. Woo! And Chris is here tonight to tell his stories. I can't wait. Good. So up next, finally, now that we have all of these great stories in Copenhagen and in Denmark, the international media is also noticing what is going on in Denmark. So there is so much coverage and so many stories about our tech startup community here. And that's also a really good thing. Because we really want to get those stories out. Next one. Yes. And another thing we want to celebrate, and you are going to hear more about this later on in the show, is the Copenhagen Tech Festival. This was one of our brainchilds and or one of our brainchildren. And we're super excited that this year the Copenhagen Tech Festival launched as an MVP. But with 10,000 guests and more than 44 events all over the city. And Marie is here tonight to tell us much more about what you can expect from 2017. Yes. Woo! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And now that the tech festival is here, suddenly the Danish media also woke up and they started to cover the tech startup community. So we've also seen massive coverage on the tech startup community in the national media, which is also really nice. So keep up the good job if there's any journalists or writers or bloggers out there tonight. Tell those stories. We all want to hear them and celebrate them. Yes. Woo! Thank you. Finally, this year we've seen a massive raise in the investments being made. A lot of deals has been made. And that's also a sign that the community is strong, is vibrant, is alive. So 89 investments so far, more than $433 million in 2016 alone. So let's celebrate that. Woo! Well done. And of course, this could not have been made or this couldn't have happened without you guys, without all of the startups and all of the members who support Copenhagen for the Win, who show up for these events and people who tell the stories, kick ass and do awesome things. So let's give a big round of applause to all of the members and everyone supporting and lovingly. And getting together in this startup community. Thank you. Woo! And finally, one thing that we're also so excited about and really happy about is that all of our friends from the rest of Denmark and also the other side of, we have Hampus here from also here tonight on stage with Chris. But what we're really happy about. Is that the communities in Denmark and in the Nordics are finally coming together and they're telling the same story their kind of way. And just last month or a couple of weeks ago, Aarhus had their first town hall event and they were inspired by this concept about this town hall and we're happy to give them whatever we created. Tools. And a website and town hall concepts because we really believe that if we work together, if we collaborate, we can achieve so much more and we can tell the stories about this fantastic region in Denmark and in the Nordics. So a big round of applause to everybody who believe in the community. Woo! Thank you.
